The Christian Life Conference begins at 10 am at Central Bible Church (8815 NE Glisan Street; Portland, Oregon 97220).

The speaker is Dr. Robert Pyne. Dr. Pyne hails from the beautiful desert of Arizona. After 17 years as a professor of theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, he now serves as Director of Leadership Development with African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries, assisting pastors and leaders in sub-Saharan Africa. Bob enjoys teaching and writing about the intersection of faith and culture. He and his wife, Julie, live in Dallas. Four active children keep them busy with high school and college schedules.

This is the first class in a series of introductory seminars on homeschooling and is affiliated with Academy Northwest/Family Academy, an accredited private school based in Seattle. The information covered during these seminars include state laws, ages and stages of development, learning styles, goal setting, choosing a curriculum, home management and record keeping, testing and assessment, and homeschooling through high school. It is especially helpful for families who are new to the area, new homeschoolers, or those who need encouragement in their homeschooling endeavors.
